Welcome to Connect Dots (“we,” “our,” or “us”). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application Connect Dots (the “App”) handles information when you use our services.

Connect Dots is a puzzle game where you rotate concentric orbital rings to align glowing nodes and form connections. We believe in transparency and want you to understand exactly what data our App accesses and why.

Information the App Stores Locally

To provide its functionality, Connect Dots stores the following data locally on your device:

1. Game Progress Data

What: Highest unlocked level, completed levels, stars earned per level, best moves per level, attempt counts
Why: To track your progress across 200+ levels and allow you to continue where you left off
Storage: Local DataStore preferences on your device only

2. Player Statistics

What: Total levels completed, total moves made, total play time, total connections, hints used, perfect levels count
Why: To display your cumulative gameplay statistics
Storage: Local DataStore preferences on your device only

3. Streak Data

What: Current play streak, longest streak achieved, last played date
Why: To maintain your daily play streak and track your longest streak
Storage: Local DataStore preferences on your device only

4. Daily Challenge Data

What: Daily challenge completion status, moves used on daily challenge
Why: To track your daily challenge progress (generated locally using a date-based algorithm — no server required)
Storage: Local DataStore preferences on your device only

5. Hint Data

What: Available hints count (maximum 5), last hint regeneration timestamp
Why: To manage your hint inventory across sessions (hints regenerate at 1 per 4 hours)
Storage: Local DataStore preferences on your device only

6. Achievement Data

What: Unlocked achievements and their unlock dates (12 achievements total)
Why: To reward your accomplishments and track milestones
Storage: Local DataStore preferences on your device only

7. User Preferences

What: Sound effects, music, vibration, particle effects, pure black mode, and colorblind mode settings
Why: To remember your app settings
Storage: Local DataStore preferences on your device only

8. Tutorial Status

What: Whether the tutorial and linked-orbits tutorial have been completed
Why: To avoid showing tutorials to returning players
Storage: Local DataStore preferences on your device only

How the App Works

You solve orbital puzzles by rotating concentric rings to align nodes across adjacent orbits
Your progress is saved locally after each completed level
Daily challenges are generated using a date-based deterministic algorithm (no server required)
Levels are procedurally generated using deterministic seeds — the same level number always produces the same puzzle
No gameplay data ever leaves your device — everything happens locally

Network Usage

The App is primarily an offline experience and does not require internet connectivity to function. However, the App uses one network feature:

Google Play In-App Updates

What: The App checks the Google Play Store for available app updates on launch
Why: To ensure you have the latest version with bug fixes and improvements
Data Sent: Only standard Google Play update check requests (no personal or gameplay data is transmitted)
Failure Behavior: If the check fails (e.g., no internet, Play Services unavailable), the App continues normally without interruption
Control: This is handled entirely by the Google Play system and is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy

Permissions Explained

Note: The App does not request internet, location, camera, microphone, contacts, or any other sensitive permissions.

Data Storage and Security

Local Storage Only

All your data is stored locally on your device in app-private storage:

Game progress and level completions
Player statistics and play time
Achievements and milestones
Streak data
App preferences and settings

No Cloud Sync

We do not offer cloud synchronization. Your gameplay data never leaves your device.

Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

Uninstall: Uninstalling the App removes all App-related data
Clear Data: You can clear App data anytime via Android Settings > Apps > Connect Dots > Clear Data
Reset Progress: You can reset all progress from within the App via Settings > Reset Progress
Your progress cannot be recovered once deleted

Children’s Privacy

Connect Dots is suitable for all ages.

We do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13
The App contains no advertisements
The App contains no in-app purchases
The App functions fully offline
The App is fully COPPA compliant

Your Rights and Choices

You have full control over your data:

Disable Sound Effects: Toggle off in App settings
Disable Background Music: Toggle off in App settings
Disable Vibration: Toggle off in App settings
Disable Particle Effects: Toggle off in App settings
Enable Colorblind Mode: Toggle on in App settings for improved accessibility
Reset Progress: Reset all game data from within the App
Clear Data: Clear all App data via Android Settings
Uninstall: Remove the App and all associated data at any time

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document.
